Day 4 went alot better than the previous day. I hiked along lake superior for most the day it was sandy but the view was great. It rained all day but that to be expected. Tomorrow is a long day. Legs are sore but the 4th day is the hardest right.
Day 4 was from the mouth of the Two Hearted River Into downtown Grand Marais. The morning started out with a drive out onto some back roads to meet scott just before muskallunge state park. The road connecting the reedgreen road to the coast guard road was very sandy in spots and I was very glad to have a truck with 4 wheel drive to power through it. The dirt road between the muskallunge and grand Marais vibrated the heck out of the truck and camper but not very many deep holes and much much better the ridiculously sandy road I took from little lake harbor to the two heated campground yesterday evening. We saw pavement once we entered alger county. I was able to check out the School forest and hike 3 miles with Scott to h58. Scott ran the last few miles into town and we all celebrated with burgers at the grand marais tavern after he iced his legs in Lake Superior. The wind was (and still is) ripping today in grand marais, we can here the waves constantly crashing against the shore next to the campground. Tomorrow is the run through pictured rocks where Scott will have a couple of long stretches without any support. Luckily he will be back in familiar territory with some great views of the lake and pictured rocks!! -Natalie
Would love to see you when you come through Munising. Assuming you will sleep in your own bed tonight. :) would you be interested in an interview with tv 6? Let me know when would be a good time or place if you are. Great job btw....you’re rocking it! Love reading the blogs and watching your progress. 🤗 Rhonda
Go Scot!!!
